Part of my year is spent in the south of Spain. The region is quite mountainous, yet close to the sea. The hillsides are dry, thanks to constant sunshine. Most of the year, the magnificent blue skies contrast with the neutral landscape. This is the feeling I have invoked in ‘The moon is swimming naked’ I & II. The neutral taupe and earthy brown shades make this a perfect painting for family rooms, quiet spaces and hallways. The blues and yellows add punch and a hint of horizon amidst the haziness of summer.
