I’m Anne, a multimedia artist with a background in fashion design. This is where my love of figurative drawing and colour theory began. It also gave me a lifelong understanding of colour harmony, balance and composition.

I lectured at RMIT University  in fashion design and production for several years before moving to Cairns in Far North Queensland with my family. I ran businesses in swimwear and jewellery design for many years, which allowed my creativity to flourish.

Several years ago, I was drawn to put brush to canvas, inspired by my colourful tropical surrounds and the electrifying blue waters of the Great Barrier Reef.

My painting style is intuitive. I paint abstracts as well as figurative, which can be calming, bold, energetic or cheeky. I work with acrylics, oils, collage and texture using my hands, fingers and rags along with conventional artists tools to create colourful works to suit any location.

My work is found in international collections throughout Spain, the UK and the USA.

Seven fun facts about me:

  1. I hate cucumber.

  2. I had never seen a swan fly until I was in London in March 2022.  It was momentous!

  3. I always misspell ‘occasion’ despite having written it hundreds of times.

  4. I made an emergency escape from a 747 when I was 17.

  5. My favourite colour is turquoise which is also my birthstone.

  6. There are 6 different nationalities in my immediate family.

  7. My favourite word is serendipity.

A little bit about me.
