“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”

Pablo Picasso

Welcome to Whately Art.

Hello,

I’m Anne.

My childhood was spent creating and full of wonderful imagination. I sold my first painting, a simple watercolor, to my art teacher at 14. I have found that through my art I can express my innermost feelings and love of the human form. It’s my sanctuary amid the frenetic and often discordant world, in which we live. My art is a small window to my imagination, which I share with you.

Let me help you through my artwork, to start a conversation, recall a memory, transport you far away, or to allow you to simply rest your soul and daydream.

Whately Art is located on the lands of the Gimuy Walubarra Yidinji people. We acknowledge that they are the original law makers and care takers of the land and pay respects to their elders past, present and emerging.

As an admirer of Anne’s art, I requested a commissioned painting.  Anne interpreted the subject, a very special location for our family, and delivered a piece that speaks perfectly to my memory.  Thanks to Whately Art my dull office has been injected with a pop of colour, catching the eyes of passersby and clients who often comment on the piece.”-Rawinia AUSTRALIA

Whately Art’s colourful contemporary artwork is by Australian artist Anne Whately. Working in mixed medias, Anne creates vibrant and exciting abstract paintings inspired by the ocean and tropical rain forests surrounding her home in Far North Queensland.

Her inspiration for her lively portraits is gathered from her travels far and wide.

Anne is continually expanding her creativity and does not believe artists must adhere to a single genre of art. Much of her work is referenced from her long career as a fashion designer.

Her love of figurative and abstract painting is represented in her collections.
